Guild member rank signifier
I think it would be great to give (on the guild cape or maybe on a special sash of some sort) a signifier of rank within a guild. For example a leader might have badges, or a crest of some kind, or color stripes that signify he is the leader. The 2nd in command could have different/fewer badges, crests, colors, and so on down the line to the "regular" member. I think that would enhance the game greatly since the game is so Guild orriented.

problem with that is that it migth give away the most important players in a GVG
ie leaders are usually the ones that are makin the calls, so take him out and its harder for them to coordinate strats

In towns only
I think the Guild rank signifier would be good for in town situations (the cons for having it in battle are well taken). I think it would add an element of prestige to the hierarchy that I really haven't seen in Guild Wars, which seems odd to me considering the word Guild is in its name.

might i suggest, instead of leader, officer, and member, cant their be some sort of rank higher than officer...such as co-leader?? and i believe that atleast the leader should have some form of symbol (designed to fit with the cape)
this would be taken OFF for pvp, and allowd in town, guild hall, and in the rpg areas, allowing his clan and fellow guild warians to truelly recognize his/her prowess
